Sukuijainiq

Privacy

Sukuijainiq keeps as little personal information as it can, and only to help people learn. This page explains what is kept, who can see it, and what you can do about it.

Who runs the site

Sukuijainiq is run by its creator in Ivujivik, Nunavik. The person in charge of protecting personal information is named at the bottom of this page.

What we keep

  • Your name or nickname, your username and your password (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it).
  • An email address, only if you choose to give one.
  • Whether the learner is under 14, and who gave consent.
  • The activities you do, your answers, scores and how you felt about them (Easy, OK, Hard).
  • Photos or writing you send for “Show your experiment” activities, and your physical activity notes.
  • Sign-in history (date, time and device) to keep accounts safe.

Why

Only to choose activities that fit each learner, to let Informers help, to give badges, and to keep accounts safe.

Who can see it

  • You can see everything about your own account.
  • Informers (teachers, parents, helpers) can see learners’ progress so they can help.
  • Administrators can see everything to run the site.

What we never do

  • We never sell or rent personal information.
  • We never show advertising or track you on other websites.
  • We never share information with anyone outside the site without permission, unless the law requires it.

Children

  • A child under 14 can only use the site after a parent or guardian agrees, online or on paper.
  • A parent or guardian can ask to see, download, correct or delete their child’s information at any time.

Your rights

  • Download all your information from your page (“Download my information”).
  • Ask for a correction of anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your account and all its information from your page, or ask us to do it.

How long we keep it

As long as the account is used. Copies kept for safety (backups) are replaced after a few weeks.

Keeping it safe

The site uses a secure connection, scrambled passwords, two-step sign-in for staff, and locks accounts after too many wrong passwords.
